Phil Ivey has been labeled as the number one poker competitor on the globe by many of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before his first birthday. His grandfather taught him one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to learn every little thing he could about poker. He routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the detrimental feedback from other people kill his ambition of being one of the greatest poker players on the planet.

He started playing seriously after getting a false ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. Phil credits his success to hard work and an eternal love for the game of poker. Phil says that he is learning every single day and is very abashed about his success.
