Online Big Stakes Poker- Who is Gus Hansen?
by Kole on April 13th, 2022
Gus Hansen had a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only gambler to make it to the last game in 3 of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. He raked in a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Gus has earned many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the best bettors anywhere in the world. While participating in net poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. He regularly plays in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of $40, 000. Hansen frequently buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very weak. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then goes all in. I believe Hansen is an amazing poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is penniless, he has absolutely no reason to sit at the game with the minimum buy-in.
Playing for the min takes almost all of the skill out of deep stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be one of the greatest players in the world but he cannot buy-in for the full dollar value. I believe tv can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The best players in the world could be guys you have will not have heard of. Gus can be found participating in online poker on Full Tilt. He normally participates in high stakes omaha eight-or-better and hold’em. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a competition player. Can he back up his abilities in cash rounds?
