Online High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

by Kole on Friday, February 24th, 2017

Gus Hansen enjoyed a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only player to achieve closing table in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might remember one of the biggest pots in high stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Gus secured a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has earned many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest bettors in the world. While playing net poker, another side of Hansen has emerged. Gus frequently competes in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus usually buys in for the minimum of $16, 000 and plays very poorly. He waits for a decent hand and then pushes all in. I know Gus is an outstanding poker player but certainly not even close to the regular players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is flat broke, he has no reason to sit at the game with the min buy in.

Playing for the min takes a majority of the expertise out of big stack poker. Gus is supposed to be 1 of the greatest poker players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the full amount. I think television can alter our view of the real world every now and then. The best players anywhere in the world may be players you have will not have heard about. Gus can be found participating in net poker on Full Tilt. He generally plays in big stakes omaha eight-or-better and texas hold’em. Gus has proven himself as a competition player. Can he use his skills in money rounds?

In Advance of a Tilt

by Kole on Thursday, February 23rd, 2017

Ah, the poker tilt. If a poker gambler claims never to have looked over the shadow of an approaching poker steam – they are either lying or they have not been competing very long. This doesn’t indicate obviously that each and every one has gone on steam in the past, a few people have awesome control and take their losses as a defeat and leave it at that. To be a powerful poker player, it’s very critical to treat your successes and your losses in the same way – with little emotion. You participate in the game the same way you did after taking a tough beat as you would after winning a great hand. Many of the poker masters are not tempted by tilting after a horrible loss as they are incredibly professional and you should be to.

You must be aware that you won’t win each and every hand you are in, regardless if you are the front runner. Hands that frequently make people go on tilt are hands you were the favorite or at a minimum thought you were until you were rivered and you lost a big chunk of your stack. Awful beats are going to develop. Accept that certainty right now, I’ll say it once again – if your sister enjoys cards, if your father plays cards, if your grandma plays cards – We all have poor losses sometime. It’s an unavoidable experience of playing Texas Hold’em, or for that matter any kind of poker.

After all we are assumingly (most of us) playing poker for a single reason – to acquire money, it certainly makes sense that we will bet accordingly to maximize winnings. Now let’s say you are up $100 off of a $100 deposit, and you take a large hit in a NL game and your bankroll is only has remaining one hundred and twenty dollars. You have squandered $80 in a round where you were sure to pick up $200two hundred dollars when you decided to go all-in on the flop and enjoyed a ten to one advantage. And that guy! He banged you out on the river? – Well hold it right here. This is a classic opportunity for a fresh player to start tilting. They basically burned too much cash on one round that they really should have won and they are aggravated

Omaha Hi-Low: General Summary

by Kole on Wednesday, January 18th, 2017

Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha/8 or better) is frequently seen as one of the most difficult but popular poker variations. It is a game that, even more than normal Omaha poker, invites action from all levels of players. This is the primary reason why a once irrelevant variation, has increased in acceptance so amazingly.

Omaha 8 or better starts exactly like a regular game of Omaha. 4 cards are given out to each player. A round of wagering ensues where gamblers can wager, check, or drop out. Three cards are given out, this is called the flop. A further round of wagering ensues. Once all the gamblers have in turn called or dropped out, an additional card is flipped on the turn. Another sequence of wagering happens and then the river card is flipped. The players must attempt to make the best high and low five card hands using the board and hole cards.

This is the point where many players can get flustered. Unlike Holdem, in which the board can make up everyone’s hand, in Omaha hi-low the player must use exactly 3 cards on the board, and exactly 2 cards from their hand. Not a single card more, no less. Contrary to regular Omaha, there are 2 ways a pot might be won: the "high hand" or the "lower hand."

A high hand is just how it sounds. It’s the best possible hand out of every player’s, it doesn’t matter if it is a straight, flush, full house, etc. It is the same notion in almost every poker game.

A low hand is more complex, but really opens up the play. When figuring out a low hand, straights and flushes do not count. the lowest hand is the weakest hand that could be made, with the lowest being A-2-3-4-5. Seeing as straights and flushes do not count, A-2-3-4-5 is the worst possible hand. The low hand is any 5 card hand (unpaired) with an eight and below. The lower hand takes half of the pot, as does the higher hand. When there’s no low hand available, the high hand wins the complete pot.

It may seem complicated at the start, after a couple of hands you will be able to get the base nuances of play simply enough. Seeing as you have players betting for the low and wagering for the high, and seeing as such a large number of cards are in play, Omaha/8 provides an amazing array of wagering choices and because you have many individuals shooting for the high hand, along with several shooting for the low hand. If you enjoy a game with a lot of outs and actions, it’s worth your time to participate in Omaha hi lo.

Holdem Schemes – Winning Poker Ideas

by Kole on Saturday, December 3rd, 2016

Before you even sit down at a table; regardless if it’s at a land based casino or in or at your desk to bet on online, you always have to be in the right frame of mind. Poker is a game of using logic to beat your competitor, exactly like chess. So your mind needs to at all times be focused and agile. Do not compete in poker when you are bored, agitated, or experience any other difficulties. This is what makes even the greatest gamblers lose.

Unless you are competing with your brother’s children or for fun on family game night, the point of the game is to win cash. You should see every person you play as just another investment in your bank account. If you participate in cards frequently each week, write down your earnings and losses. This might help you see where you tend to be in your game and how your poker game is really profiting you.

The challenge of poker is to make cash, however that is not what you might be thinking about while you play. You really should concentrate on making the right choice each time it’s your chance to call, check, or place a bet. Constantly concentrate on making the strongest choice at the time while not worrying about the pot. Eventually the more good decisions you make in a game, the higher cash you can win.

It’s very possible to make the correct call and in the end, give up the hand but you certainly will not squander in the long run. The one aspect to bear in mind when you are playing poker is that all profits are from mistakes. The more improved you get at decision-making, the bigger your amount of money will get.
