Annie Duke may not have earned her 1st WSOP Bracelet until ‘04 but she is still one of the most feared poker players at the cash matches at The Bellagio in Las Vegas. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP bracelet came with success at the "cast aside game" of Omaha hi low.

While competitors from the "younger generation" of poker run wild after a large win at the tournament, Annie goes home to be "mom" to her four kids. She grew up in New Hampshire and raised into a family of poker players. If you do not believe that, watch her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who coached her how to compete in the game.

However, Annie Duke is no small-potatoes girl and has captured her share of challenging tables, which includes eliminating Howard a few times along the way. They are both competitors that have the ability to capture the huge cash and do so with a grin.

Annie Duke is a strong player at any table because she is a true poker player, but it’s a little more than simply being strong at the game. Mrs. Duke is extremely intelligent and graduated from Columbia U where she took a double major in Psychology and English.

When you are seated across from Annie at the table you’ll see she is there to play the game and she starts "summing" you up as soon as you sit down at the table. If you can not wager like a camp, then don’t waste your time.

Acquiring over $3 million in tournament play, Mrs. Duke branched out to become a consultant to both the UltimateBet website and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who wanted to enhance his techniques and develop into a power at the poker table.

You might catch a glimpse of her at the Bellagio, you’ll observe her on the tv and you might even play against her in an on-line poker match, but do not count on an easy win. Except of course you are a champion-in-the-making, you’ll not beat her. However, it would be exciting to say you sat at the at the table with "The Duke".
