Poker Calculator Announcement: Hold’em Pirate … Holdem Hawk Prohibited by Poker Stars

by Kole on November 20th, 2013

Since the Party Poker collapse a few years back, Poker Stars has surfaced as the undeniable leader in sheer quantities of internet poker players. They’ve the largest tournaments, the most active tables, the largest money games, along with the quickest filling sit down and go tournaments on the net. With that comes strength – the strength to choose your partners, online marketers, and closer to our point; acceptable computer software.

Long have I been promoting Hold em Hawk and Holdem Pirate (they are in fact the same) poker calculators as simple to use and visibly satisfying poker calculators. Lately though, these solutions have pushed the limits of acceptable use, at least inside the view of Poker Stars, and hence have been restricted from use on that web site. This is sad news, as a respectable product, not unlike a number of of the appropriate computer software authorized by Stars, is now essentially grounded because the biggest poker website on the planet thinks it’s too closely associated to an Operative Poker Calculator.

An Operative Poker Calculator is just like a secret adviser operating for you, amassing and mining player facts that you may use against them down the line. The factor is, you do not have to be at the table for this to happen. The computer software (database) is working all the time for you. For most poker websites, that’s over the line of fairness, just as in actual life also.

Except Holdem Pirate and Hold em Hawk are truly Empirical Poker Calculators, just the same as Holdem Indicator is. These types of poker calculators only accumulate information on your opponents whenever you are at the table, just like you were wagering in an actual situation.

So why the Poker Stars Smack? Here’s an actual forewarning I was sent from Poker Stars whilst running Holdem Pirate:

Following an evaluation of your account, we find that you are using an external software program identifiedas Poker Sherlock, or its associated programs, Poker Edge, PokerBotPro, Holdem Hawk and Holdem Pirate……PokerStars shall be entitled to take such action as it sees fit, including immediately preventing entry to the Games to such User, terminating such User’s account with PokerStars and seizing all monies held inside the relevant Poker Stars "real cash account".

Hey, did you observe the "confiscating all funds" line? That is what you’ll be able to do whenever you are this massive!

The "related applications" is the origin of the problem. The business that created Hawk and Pirate also produce Poker Edge and PokerBotPro, which are data miners. Actually, I believe that Stars thinks Hawk and Pirate actually mine data for these associated products, although appearing like an Empirical Poker Calculator on the surface.

So therein lies the root of the problem. If you occur to play on Stars and have Hawk or Pirate, you are out of luck, as I have tried to change this judgment. I got a well mannered reply from the staff members at Poker Stars, but seriously, it’s not likely to change. The excellent news though is that Holdem Indicator has been added to Poker Stars acceptable software program checklist, and it is the only empirical calculator to be authorized by them.
