No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker contender in the world by most of the top-ranked professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa showed him to one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to learn anything he could about the game. He would tell his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the detrimental feedback from other people annihilate his goal of becoming one of the best poker competitors in the world.

Phil started competing intently after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The beginning few years for Phil were a teaching experience and winning was not a regular outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he achieved 2 final tables and won his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he defeated many of the better known pros including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil made a decision to take his game to the next level and headed out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and a continuing passion for poker. Phil says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is quite abashed about his achievements. Phil admits to making errors every single session of poker and constantly aspires to get better.

Although Ivey has won some large tournaments, he favors destroying money games on a normal basis.
